Textbooks: E-textbooks

Some electronic textbooks (e-textbooks) are available through the SOWELA Library.  There are two types e-textbooks that are available to read online for free:

  • Curriculum Driven Acquisition (CDA) eTextbooks, and
  • Open Educational Resource (OER) eTextbooks.

CDA eTextbooks were acquired by the SOWELA Library through Affordable Learning LOUISiana - a project of LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network.  You will be asked to log into the database with your L-number and pin (the six digits of your birthday - MMDDYY) if you are trying to access CDA eTextbooks.  Some books limit the number pages you can download at one time, but you can download more pages later.

OER eTextbooks are free to read online and you do not need to log in to access them.

CDA and OER eTextbooks help students save on the cost of attending college and provide for more equitable access to higher education.  You can read these eTextbooks online or download chapters to read.  Look below to find out if your course has an eTextbook.
