Information Literacy

The SOWELA Library offers information literacy instruction for face-to-face and online classes. These instructional sessions will help students

Understand the research process
Use the best search tools and techniques for their research
Learn to evaluate information sources
Understand how information is used and valued

Sessions are scheduled based on availability. Information literacy sessions must be scheduled at least 3 days in advance.

Please use this form to request library instruction for your course. Email form and any additional information to Connie.MIlton@Sowela.edu. In your request, please tell us:

Your preferred date & time of instruction
The number of students in the class
Details about the assignment this session will support
Your class’s writing style (MLA, APA, etc.)

Online Instruction

The library can also support online classes with videos, research guides, or live virtual instruction webinars using WebEx.

Videos created by SOWELA librarians as well as videos from our Academic Video Online (AVON) database can be embedded in Canvas. Library research guides can also be embedded.
